This evening, April 6, 2021, at approximately 6:50 P.M. the South Bend Police Department responded to a shooting south of campus near the intersection of N. Frances Street and Campeau Street. Two people were reportedly injured. The suspect was reported to have fled eastbound. At this time we are not aware of any affiliation with the Notre Dame community.
The Notre Dame Police Department has been in contact with our partners in South Bend about this incident, and we will continue to work together for the safety of our communities.
If you have any information regarding this assault, please contact the South Bend Police Department, and if you are a victim of a crime please report it to local authorities.
If you become aware of a disturbance or fight, leave the area as quickly as possible and seek protection. Once you have reached a place of safety, call 911. If this is not possible, hide and seek shelter in a place where you will be safe until the danger has passed.
