Food for Fines is back!  

Unpaid parking ticket? For a limited time, you may pay any outstanding citation balance with a donation that will benefit the Family Justice Center of St. Joseph County and Food Bank of Northern Indiana. 
Bring your items and your Irish1Card to the Parking Services office in Hammes Mowbray Hall between November 21st and December 16th.

The following food items are worth $5 towards a citation:

  • Canned food (vegetables, meats, tuna, beans - 10 oz or larger)
  • Peanut butter, nut butter (16 oz or larger)
  • Macaroni and cheese (5 oz or larger)
  • Starches including rice, spaghetti, macaroni, egg noodles (16 oz or larger)
  • Canned soup (10 oz or larger)
  • Condiments including ketchup and mustard (13 oz or larger)

The following non-food items are worth $10 towards a citation (full-size only):

  • Shampoo 
  • Conditioner 
  • Body wash  
  • Toothpaste (two or more)
  • Cleaning wipes  
  • Deodorant (two or more)
  • Box of pads (pack of 32 or more)
  • Box of tampons (pack of 32 or more)

There is no limitation on the number of donations, but each citation must be paid in full.  

Students: Donations will not count towards any citation already forwarded to your student accounts, so make sure to donate within the first 10 days after receiving a citation.

Items must be unopened and in their original packaging.
Please, no expired items.
