Lost Items

Lost and Found is located at the Notre Dame Police Department. You may inquire about lost items in person at Hammes Mowbray Hall, by calling 574-634-2149, via email to lost@nd.edu, or by searching the lost item database on this page. If your item isn't listed, please click the gold colored "File A Claim" button to the right of the ND logo or scroll down to the bottom of the PixIt page, click the button, and fill out the form.

Many buildings on campus have their own lost and found, often located in the Dean's office or at the front desk. During the school year, regular pick-ups for transfer of lost and found are conducted. If NDPD does not have your lost item, contact the lost and found area in the building in which you lost the item.

Found Items

Found items should be promptly turned into the Notre Dame Police Department.

All items will be held for a minimum of 30 days, after which they will be disposed of by donating to a charitable organization. Proper identification on your valuables, such as an email address or telephone number helps us return your property to you. Anyone claiming property at the lost and found area must show a photo identification.

Found University IDs will be returned to the Campus Card Office. For a lost ID card, contact the Campus Card Office
