Biography

Sarah Elizabeth Sakaguchi joined the Global Safety & Security team as the Program Manager for International Travel Safety in July 2024. In this role, she supports Notre Dame’s global initiatives, including international travel, safety, and activities across Notre Dame’s twelve primary global locations and assisting with emergency management during international crises.

Sarah brings a distinctive blend of expertise in intelligence, security, and higher education to her role. After completing her bachelors, she began her career as a security dispatcher and uniformed officer, and in 2022 transitioned to Fairmont State University, her alma mater, after completing her master’s. At Fairmont State, Sarah managed all aspects of international and global affairs, including international student services, immigration, and study abroad programs. She coordinated international travel and ensured the safety of students participating in international programs with global partners. Additionally, Sarah has taught undergraduate courses in Spanish, history, and criminal justice.

Sarah holds Bachelor’s degrees in National Security and Intelligence, Political Science, and Spanish, as well as a Master of Arts in Spanish Language with a graduate certificate in Linguistics from West Virginia University.
