Enhanced Hang Tags

Your Notre Dame parking permit has an embedded RFID chip that is programmed to open specific campus access and parking lot gates.  If you have questions about which gates your permit has access to, please call Parking Services at 574-631-5053.

Important Information

• Your parking permit will not open a gate if your Irish1 Card (Notre Dame ID) is expired.
• Your Irish1 Card can also be used to open a gate by tapping the Irish1 Card against the card reader.
• Hang the permit on your rearview mirror.
• Position the permit with the picture and permit number facing outward, they must be visible from the outside of the vehicle.
• Hang tags may also deactivate if an account has any unpaid citations (emails are sent at regular intervals to provide an alert of pending deactivation).  Check your ParkND account for updates.

Temporary Hang Tag Assistance

Call (574-631-5053) or email (parking@nd.edu) for temporary hang tag assistance if you have forgotten your permit.  Park in the "C" or "D" student lots until your permit has been returned to the vehicle. Lost/missing hang tag replacement is available for a $35.00 fee.
