Obtaining a Permit
Registering your vehicle
Make sure you have a valid Irish1Card prior to registration. If your Irish1Card is expired or not yet active (for new employees), simply visit the Parking Services Office in Grace Hall to register and obtain your permit.
Complete the process online using the following steps:
- Log in to insideND.
- Search for “ParkND.”
- Log in to ParkND with your Okta credentials.
- If you have not already done so, add your vehicle information under "Vehicles" at the top of your screen (you'll need your license plate number, registration state, make, model, color, and year).
- At the top of your screen, using the drop-down menu, click “Permits” and “Get Permits.”
- Follow the prompts on the screen and proceed through the permit process.
You will receive an email from Parking Services when your permit is ready for pick-up. You will be asked to present your Irish1Card to customer service.
Important to Remember:
- ALL vehicles parking on the campus of Notre Dame must display a valid permit.
- Your Faculty/Staff enhanced hang tag should hang on the rearview mirror (no need to wave it out the window); it should remain on mirror while parked.
- If your Irish1Card has expired, the enhanced parking hang tag will automatically deactivate.
- If you leave the University, the enhanced parking tag (and all other access rights) will be deactivated.
- Upon separation, the parking permit must be returned to your supervisor/manager for return to Parking Services.
- Upon retirement, please bring your standard issue parking hang tag to Parking Services for exchange to a Retiree parking tag.
- Parking permits provided to faculty and staff should not be given or loaned to students or affiliates.
- Treat your permit as you would your credit card; keep it in a safe place when not in use.
- Replacement cost for parking hang tags is $35.00.
- Your Irish1Card (plastic or digital) will also open the parking lot gates; however...
- If you forget your permit, call or see Parking Services for a temporary parking permit (for parking in (C) or (D) student lots).
- Take a few minutes to review Regulations & Violations to avoid costly fines and potential vehicle impounds.
