What is harassment?

"Harassment" means conduct directed toward an victim that includes but is not limited to repeated or continuing impermissible contact that would cause a reasonable person to suffer emotional distress and that actually causes the victim to suffer emotional distress. (Indiana Code § 35-45-10-2)

What is stalking?

"Stalking" means an intentional course of conduct involving repeated or continuing harassment of a specific person that would cause a reasonable person to feel terrorized, frightened, intimidated, or threatened and that actually causes the victim to feel terrorized, frightened, intimidated, or threatened. (Indiana Code § 35-45-10-1)

What should I do if I am being stalked or harassed?

If you believe you are being stalked or harassed, notify NDPD immediately. 

If you are experiencing telephone harassement from a robocaller or a suspicious number, report the phone number to the AT&T Annoyance Call Bureau or by calling 800-769-4099 and block the phone number(s) on your device.  DO NOT engage with the caller. If the contact continues, notify NDPD.
